Belle Mare - Unspoilt Eastern Mauritius Getaways

Belle Mare, East Mauritius

The Eastern region of Mauritius is known for reasonably good beaches, but there aren’t as many well known resorts as in the other areas of Mauritius. The most prestigious resorts tend to be around the Belle Mare and Trou D’eau Douce areas.

Belle Mare

Bellle Mare is one of the best places in the Eastern region of Mauritius for diving. Lots of holiday makers to Mauritius come here for the good diving facilities – there’s even opportunity to enjoy undersea walks here (provided by a handful of the dive operators around).

Accommodation – Hotels, Guest Houses & Resorts In Belle Mare

There are a couple of wonderfully luxurious resorts here – Constance Le Prince Maurice with the Belle Mare Plage Golf Club is a five star golfing resort - and a fabulous wedding choice!

An exciting and impressive new development, Anahita is more a community than a resort – and of course it has an Ernie Els golf course!

Stretching along four miles of uninterrupted shoreline on the island’s east coast, it is a stunning natural site of verdant forests and enticing beaches, sheltered by a protective lagoon..

Those with a somewhat lower budget still have plenty of places to choose from. There’s the three star Le Palmar Beach Hotel which has good facilities for a smaller hotel. A fun medium class beach resort which is highly recommended for families and those who enjoy a wide range of activities is Le Coco Beach.

Thalassa Residence Belle Mare is a luxury with nearby beaches and water sports.

Trou D’eau Douce

Fishing towns are a dime a dozen in Mauritius. One of the places many holiday makers to the east side of Mauritius tend to stay in is Trou D’eau Douce.

If you’ve got a good budget for your holiday to Mauritius then Le Touessrok is a five star hotel that is the absolute pinnacle of luxury and a favourite for weddings. Other hotel choices along Trou D’eau Douce include Le Tropical, and Silver Beach.

There isn’t too much else for tourists to look at in the Eastern area of Mauritius, though some tourists like to visit Centre De Flacq, a pleasant market town with some nice restaurants.
